75% of all firefighters are volunteers and 51% of all EMS personnel are volunteers.

This webpage is dedicated to the Volunteers of Spotsylvania County, Virginia that provide Fire & Rescue services to their community. Volunteer Fire & EMS is made up of three organizations: Chancellor Volunteer Fire & Rescue, Spotsylvania Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department. Our three organizations provide Fire and Rescue coverage from 1800 to 0500 on weekdays, and all weekend long. Our volunteers have full-time jobs from career fire/ems, law enforcement, engineers, network administrators, lawyers, hotel managers, insurance agents, military officers/enlisted, government employees, and many more. We run anywhere between 10 and 100+ hours per month each.
